Philanthropy

In 1979, Alpha Delta Pi international philanthropy made a commitment to Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). RMHC supports Ronald McDonald Houses in local communities, as well as funding grants to other not-for-profit organizations whose programs focus on children in need. There are 195 Ronald McDonald Houses in 16 countries, whose function is to provide comfort, care, and a "home-away-from-home" for the families of seriously ill children who are receiving treatment at nearby hospitals. In addition to donating money to this worthwhile cause, many Alpha Delta Pi collegiate chapters and alumnae associations spend their time and energy volunteering at these houses.

Our Chapter donates much time, money, and poptabs to the two RMHs in Kansas City! Chapter members make monthly visits to the two houses and help out by cleaning and making dinner. We also hold various fundraisers throughout the school year including Pool Tournaments, Great Lion Hunt (a virtual scavenger hunt for our lion mascot on campus), as well as Pop Tab Poker! The Ronald McDonald House also accepts donated pop tabs from cans!

Alpha Delta Pi is proud to claim T.A.K.E Defense as one of our philanthropic activites. T.A.KE Defense offers training to give you the knowledge, confidence and empowerment you'll need if ever in a situation compromising to your safety. What happened to Ali Kemp could happen to you. But T.A.K.E strives to make sure it doesn't. In Ali's honor, they've created a foundation to equip women of all ages with the resources they need to feel safe. From a highly successful safety awareness program to educational scholarships, we're here to let Ali's legacy thrive.
